Little Extra - Monogram.

The Little Extra this week is about one of my favourite things - monograms - lucky me .... :)

So here are a couple of my recent monogram cards.

Daring Card Makers.

I've edited this post, as Em has asked about the metal 'S'.
I made it myself using Art emboss copper metal and BG or MM monogram (can't remeber which one). I only use the monograms as templates.

So I shaped the metal around the chipboard letter.
Bashed it with my eyelet hammer then sanded it a bit and used some alcohol inks to destress some more. I used foam pads to attach it to the card. Once the letter was on the card, I glued around the letter edge - just to make sure it stayed put.

Birthday Card.

My two best friends celebrate their birthday's next month.
We all went to school together, and they like to tell everyone that I am the oldest of the three, as my birthday is in February .... :/, thanks girls.

I always make them the same card (the only difference is the letter on the front with this one).

They are both very special to me, and I like to wirte soppy stuff inside, cos it makes them cry ...... especially Jack .... lol, well I have to get my own back for them telling everyone I'm the oldest .... lol

DCM - 20/20

Kathy set the dare over on DCM this week.

I'd like you to use 20 of one particular thing on a card - be it blooms, papers, brads, ribbons the choice is yours - you can use other things too, but there must be 20 of one item/component - not 20 things altogether, that would be much too easy.

For instance, can you use 20 different papers on one card? 20 Ribbons? Or 20 Blooms - well surely that one sounds easy...

Now if you're really up for a challenge and want to try for TWO lots of 20 - well - then we'd all be really impressed!

So here is mine - I've gone for the 2 lots of 20.
There are 20 stamped squares. They have been sewn on with 20 different coloured threads. This felt like a good idea at the time, but when I was threading the machine up, for what felt like the 100th time - I kinda wished I'd stuck to the 1 twenty ..... ;)

Oh Boy .....

this week's Little Extra that's what we'd like you to make - a card with a male in mind. Be it Baby boy, Little boy, Teenage Boy or BIG "boy"

It's been ages since I've managed to do one of the little extra's that Daring Card Makers set as a mid week challenge, but luckily one of my orders this week is for a baby card - for a little boy ....... how lucky is that :D

For Sale.

I'm having a wee clear out of some crafty bits ..... as much as I hate to get rid of anything, but it's a waste to have these goodies sitting doing nothing. I'm ashamed to say both of these items have only been used to 'try them' when they were first bought.

Messy Moo

I'm such a Messy Moo.
Yesterday I decided that I was gonna tidy my Studio, as since moving from the house I had lost all my rub ons .... I've looked and looked but still I couldn't find them. I am begining to think I have thrown them out by mistake. Needless to say the studio is just as untidy and the rub ons are still 'lost' .... grrrr!!!

EF - Challenge 5 - use some ephemera

I'm really enjoying the 'A Deck of Me' challenge. Still playing catch-up, but have made 3 this weekend, so am pleased at that. This is week 5, you had to use some ephemera from your week.

We had a bottle of wine last night - we are not big wine fans, but have a few bottles we got as Christmas gifts, so decided to have a bottle. No we didn't just have a bottle so I could get the cork .... ;D .... and yes I know I have spelt decided with a 'S' for some reason - but - hey-hoe.

I added the glue to the back of the cork and left it on the worktop while I wrote on the back of the card ...... when I stood up the cork was stuck in my hair ..... 8' I've just had 10inches cut off my hair - can't imagine what a mess I would get in if it was still long ..... 8D

In The Fold - 2

I had great plans today - to get all my card orders upto date. Catch up with the Emily Falconbridge Challenge. I also wanted to get started on a mini book idea that I've had spinning about in my head for a couple of weeks ...... well I got one card made and another week of EF's A Deck of You challenge. It took the best part of the day to complete this one card ..... 8/

DCM - In The Fold.

So we are back to Jane for this weeks dare over on Daring Card Makers Blog.

Welcome everyone to another daring Friday! It was my turn to set the dare this week (Jane) and I'm daring you to make a card that has to have more than one fold - so it can be a gate fold card, or a 3 panel card with an aperture or a card with multiple folds OR you can incorporate paper folding on the actual card itself. It can be on any theme. Easy eh ?! Aren't I nice to you all! LOL!

So here is my card. I'm not showing much of the front panel in case the person who the card is for spies it ..... ;D. I really enjoyed making the card for the Speshial Romance dare, so went for this style again. I've still got journalling to add.

I've had a bad cold this week - cough-cough. One of those sore barking coughs, with a sore throat and head ..... :( The Guys were happy when I lost my voice - luckily it was only gone for a day, hehehehe!!!!!! I quite enjoyed that I could just ignore them.

Schools here came off today until Tuesday - YAY!!!! - so I have a looooooooong weekend ahead of me, and I plan to get as much crafting done as possible. I have a few orders to complete and then I will have a play.

DCM - All Things Media.

Gillian has set the Dare this week over on the Daring Card Makers Blog, and is inspired by 'All Things Media'.

It's around us no matter which way we turn, and all designed to get our attention. Ads designed by graphic designers who know all the tricks & techniques to draw our eyes to the product in question.

You only have to glance at a Newspaper quickly to read headings with 'Shock' titles & 'Clever' puns all designed to make you want to read what the article is all about!

Maybe you have been inspired by an Ad in a magazine, the colours or design that has been used. Or incorporate actual magazines & newspapers onto your card; maybe chop up letters (ransom note style) to create the sentiment.

I got the inspiration for this card from a magazine ad for a CD I received at Christmas. It didn't turn out quite how I wanted it, but I'm happy with the finished result. Thanks for a great Dare Gillian.

DCM - Celebrate the Romance

So we were promised an extra special dare this week by the Daring Card Maker girls, and boy did they deliver.

This week we're joining forces with the wonderful team of Scrapbookers over on the Everyone is Speshal blog. We're daring each other and you to make a Really Romantic Scrapbook Layout - but on a card!

DH and I have been together for 16 years next month, and in July we will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. That's me ultra organised and made this card for him .... only 5mths in advance .... ;D.
