Day Trip.
Happy New Year Blog friends. Hope you all had a fab time.
Today we decided that we were gonna get away from everyone (ie the in-law's)and head further north and blow away the Christmas cobwebs. We didn't have a destination in mind just got into the car and off we went.
We ended up in the Cairngorm mountains at Glenshee. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, but .... oh boy it was soooooocold & windy. J's coat blew away and we had to give chase ......... well the guys did, I was too busy collapsing with laughter.
We had home made soup and rolls at the Ski lift cafe. The electicity went off, but they had the generator up and running in no time, it was just what the Doctor ordered. Hardly any snow up there yet, but usually end of January/February time the snow should make an apperance.
We finished the day off with a trip to see Night at the Museum at the cinema. We all had a great day.
Might get some Craft done tomorrow, the last day of my holiday ...... I can certainly get used to not going to work ...... may have to start doing the lottery.

Oh, this post makes my heart sing! My husband and I went to Scotland for our honeymoon and we just loved the Cairngorm mountains! We climbed one of them - the first day we turned back because of the wind and rain and the second day we climbed all the way to the top inspite of the discusting weather! My favorite part was hot chocolate at a little cafe in Aviemore! Hope you have a lovely day! Kim (in Canada)
Happy New Year Lynne and heres to a healthy, wealthy and of course crafty 2007!

now THAT sounds like a GREAT day out xxxjleotgy
Lovely pics Lynne - and Wot? no rain?
Always, always, always rains whenever I've ventured north of the border - even if I just put so much as a big toe out of Northumberland and into Scotland!
