Little Extra

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

My Boy was 13 yesterday. How did that happen, feels like only yesterday he was brought home from the hospital. He had a great day - we all did, and we are all so proud of you J.....xx

Here's the boy getting a birthday kiss from his Gran and wee Cousin.

Another fab array of cards this week for Jo's '9-5' dare. There's still plenty of time to join in - if you've not already.

This weeks little extra is to use Black and ONE other colour only.
We are going to make it a bit easier this week and allow shades of the one colour - aren't we nice ...... :D

I've settled for the easy option and gone for Black & White.

Working 9-5.

WooHoo, it's Friday - bring on the Dare.

This week Jo has been working the Design Team from 9-5 to come up with this weeks cards.

This week it's my turn (Jo) and I'm going to dare you to use bits and bobs from the office for your cards.

It's been a while since I had a 'real' job - other than being a Mum and of course playing with bits of paper...

Reminiscing... I would like you to make a card using some thing that you would normally find in an office environment. Such as... staples, paperclips, paper fasteners, file folders, library cards, hole punches, lined paper etc you get the drift.

Don't forget to leave us a comment with your blog link to show us your interpretation of the dare. If you haven't got a blog don't worry you can still join in, send a photo or scan of your card to the team at daringcardmakers@hotmail.co.uk and we will add it to our gallery and share the link right here on the blog.

I'm off to do the Race for life today.

I didn't sleep a wink last night - which I tend to do when I have something on.

So wish me luck.

Almost a Teen - LO

In just over a week, my 'baby' will become a teenager ..... where has the time gone. I'm too young to have a teenage son ...... well so I keep telling myself .... hehehe!!!

It has been ages since I have done a LO. I have missed it, but being ill for the past few months, I just don't have the energy or mojo to do much other than sleep, but seeing the half map LO on Bex's new forum, I thought I'd have a go. It's the first time I've done this size LO, but it wont be the last I really like it.

It's Friiiiiday......

..... and that mean's it's time for a new Dare.

We have a new Guest Designer this week
The wonderfully talented Bety is joining us for a couple of weeks.

This week Tracie (Bondgirl), has set the Dare, this is what she want's from us ......

For this weeks dare, I dare you to "start from scratch" I want to you design a card with NO purchased/pre-assembled embellishments - that means no blooms unless you cut them yourself, no buttons, brads etc etc. I guess how easy this is depends on your usual style

**insert evil laugh here**

Mwahahahahahaha - and believe me - she aint gonna let you cheat ..... not even a teeny tiny brad ..... so off you go and start from scratch.

I've have hand drawn and cut my flowers from SassafrassLass PP. Handmade chipboard brads - coated with Anita's 3D gloss for the flower centers.

Scrumptious Dare Day.

Friday is Dare Day ........ Yay!!!!

Here's what Kathy is serving up for us this week.

This week it's me (Kathy) setting the dare and I'd like you to make a card with a theme of FOOD!

So let's mull this one over.......
You could make an invitation to a barbecue, dinner party, picnic, kids party etc

It could feature a recipe, ingredients, utensils, cookery quotations, poems or rhymes....

It could have food depicted on it eg cupcake, CHOCOLATE, bowl of fruit , CHOCOLATE, sausages, CHOCOLATE,.....birthday cake....

Hey, it could even have real food stuck on it.....OK, maybe not....

as long as it's clearly got a foodie theme it's allowed.

Please come and share your creative concoctions with us either by leaving a message with your blog address, or by emailing your pictures to us at

daringcardmakers@hotmail.co.uk

We have gather all the names from last weeks 'Wings' dare and we will be drawing and announcing the winner soon, so keep checking the Daring Card Makers Blog.

3 Little Things.

We have had an amazing turn out for Fridays 'Wings' dare, at the last count there were 35 links to the most fantastic cards. If you've not had a chance to check them out, then do, you won't be disappointed.

There is still plenty of time to join this weeks main 'Wings' dare, and remember everyone who leaves a link for the dare will be entered into our little Prize Draw

Now for a Little Extra to keep us going until the next dare.

This week's Little Extra is another of our popular "recipe" cards.

All you need to do is include at least one of each ingredient on your card, then when you're done leave a message so we can all come and see how you've incorporated them into your design.

Here are your 3 ingredients:
1 stamp
1 piece of chipboard
1 piece of metal

It was quite hard to get a descent photo of this card.
I've stamped a PaperArtsy stamp into some metal and destressed it with sandpaper. The hearts are handmade chipboard that are triple embossed. Papers are from the fabby Anna Griffin.

Have fun fellow crafty bloggers, and remember to checkout the fab links on the DCM Blog and the other amazing DCM DT cards ...... oh and also the Prize Draw, we'll find out the lucky winner on Friday at the next dare launch - good luck!!!
