Little Extra - Beautiful

We've had a brilliant response to Fridays Self Addressed Kit sponsored dare. Remember and check out the links list and DCM gallery for all the works of art this week. Also - there are lots of cards on the Self Adressed Kit's own Gallery - on their Forum, which is well worth a look.

If you've not got your card done yet - don't worry there is still plenty of time for you to take part before the next dare is set.

This week's Little Extra challenge gives you just one single word for inspiration - and that word is:

BEAUTIFUL
Hopefully that will have you thinking Beautiful thoughts and making Beautiful cards

I've used papers from Aprils SA Kit. It's such a gorgeous kit - I'm not suprised it sold out.

The stamped letters and the card blank are all from previous SA Kits, it's well worth checking out the 'Scraps & Bits' section of the SA site for some fabby bargins.

I wonder if I have a life....!

I wonder if I have a life....!

I found this film questionaire on Nic's blog.

It’s been said that allegedly if you’ve seen over 85 movies you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 239 films on this list.

Copy this list, go to your own blog, paste it in and put x’s by the ones that you have seen. Add them up........

I'm a bit of a TV/Movie addict so this should be good .....

My first DT Dare

So this is my first dare as a fully fledged DT member of the ultra fabby Daring Card Makers ...... woohoo :D ...... I was soooooo nervous .... hehehehe!!

Many thanks for all the good wishes I've received on my joining DCM. They are all very much appreciated.

Following on from the excitment of me joining the team on Tuesday. For the next couple of weeks we have Tracy joining us as our new guest designer.

This week's challenge was a little different for the Daring Card Makers - as it was completely sponsored by Self Addressed.

Self Addressed very kindly donated papers, cards and envelopes (from various SA kits) to the whole of the DCM team to see what we could come up with.

Our Jane has came up with the following template for us all to follow.

So use your own papers (or some from your SA Kits if you already get them) to come up with your fabulous creations- and don't forget to check out the fantastic kits on offer at Self Addressed 'The kits are designed for scrapbooks, cards and mini-albums.

We would like to thank Jenn at Self Addressed for her generous support of our blog, we really appreciate it. Many thanks Self addressed!

I've used papers from the fab November 2006 Kit

I've been Tagged.....

I have been tagged by Keryn and Stacy.

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves.

People who are tagged need to blog about their 7 things and post the rules as well.

At the end of your blog you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names.

Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

OK here are my 7 random facts..... WooHoo!!!

1) I can't drive and am a very nervous passenger.
2) I can't breath properly through my nose.
3) I'm the eldest of 13 Grandchildren.
4) I have 2 sisters - and there is an 18 year gap between me and the youngest.

Crossing Continents Dare.

LITTLE EXTRA.
Recipe for this weeks Little Extra
5 circles
3 squares
1 flower

Week 13 - On My Mind
A Deck of Me ..... I have so much on my mind just now - it's kinda mish-mash in there, so I stamped lots of images onto the card and then some more onto an overlay.

Crossing Continents Dare was set by Saffa this week, here's what she has to say;

I, (Saffa) come from a very multicultural background and love being able to see them all from within and this is what has inspired this weeks challenge....take a deep breath...
I would like you to make a card that celebrates and reflects a festival from another culture to your own....

So here are some ideas to get you started:
Chinese New Year, Eid,Hanukkah, Persian New Year, Diwali, Sinhalese New Year, Kwanzaa, St. Patrick's day.

Art Attack Dare.

Here is what Rhi has to say about the dare she has set for us this week;

I dare you to make a card inspired by a work of art. Look out for colours, patterns, textures, compositions, shapes or themes that inspire you, and remember to show us the piece of art that inspired you to create so we can see the common ground.

I was inspired by the Dog Art Dog's Pugs - aint they cute. The original Pic of the guys was taken at Aldershot train station on our way to Waterloo.

I quite like how it turned out, and have DH's fathers day card from the boy. This is a great dare to have a go of. If your not sure where to start, have a look at the links Rhi has added to the Daring Card Makers Blog...... 'I dare you'

***Edit***
I've edited to answer Rhi question about how this card was coloured.
Rhi - you know I am a total techno-twat, this card is hand coloured with water colour pencils, no gizmos here..... :D

Inspiration.

I've had a busy couple of days - Craft wise. Think I'm making up for Zero crafting in March - BOOOOO!!!!

My Mojo was kinda low, so went for an easy option to give it a kick start. I found a great little kit at Sarah's Card's for a cigar tin book designed by Anita Mundt, and boy did it work. It is a fab kit. A few pages left to complete, but will have to wait for my pictures as my wee photo printer seems to have given up the ghost :(

Updated my 2007 Journal - this is my March page.

I'm really behind with the 'A Deck of Me' challenge on Emilys 52 week challenge, but have managed to get another two done.

Week 1 - Something your Proud of .....
...... My relationship with my Boy. He is always telling me I'm 'sound', so I must be doing something right ;D

Week 8 - What/Who do I miss.......
.... it has to be my Granda, more so this week - as it is his 3rd remembrance on Tuesday. He was the heart of my family, to his 6 Children, 13 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren, and I will be doing the race for life in his memory in May.

We miss you Granda Tosh .... xx

I have started this weeks dare, and hope to get it finished later today.
That little Minx Rhi has got my little wheels spinning with this one ..... hmmmm!!!

Hunny, I'm home...... :D

............. and I'm exhausted.

We had a fab time, spending time together away from home so no pesky work calls to interrupt us. We drove for 6hrs to my sisters home in Aldershot. I was so excited about seeing the J's, it's been awhile and Jess is getting so big (see cutie pic below) - and bossy - she is just like her Ma - and my Gran ...lol.. :D

After a few days, we got the train into Waterloo and spent a couple of days walking about London, seeing the sites - fab. The sun was out and it was so relaxing just pottering about, then back to Aldershot to get the car for the 6hr drive home.
